How to set up

Four steps.

Your Windows computer analyzes video locally, so your video stays inside your home.

Step 1

Download & install

Download SafetySense for Windows and follow the guided installation.

Step 2

Connect and place your cameras

Add Tapo cameras with the Tapo app, then use SafetySense Control Center to scan, preview, name, and select the cameras you want to monitor.

Step 3

Create your account & alerts

Create an account and your free service is assigned automatically so you can receive forwarded alerts. A phone number is optional and is needed only for text notifications.

Step 4

Test & start monitoring

Run a quick test to confirm your cameras and alerts are working. Once everything is confirmed, SafetySense is ready to monitor your home.

What You Need to Get Started

Start with what you have. Designed to grow with your needs.

SafetySense can run on the Windows computer you already own. Your computer determines how many cameras it can comfortably support and how quickly video can be analyzed.

A GPU (graphics processing unit) handles visual processing much faster than a standard processor. More processing power becomes increasingly useful as you add cameras and gives SafetySense room for future capabilities.

Start With the Computer You Have

You can begin with an existing Windows computer. Many systems can support up to four cameras. Performance and camera capacity depend on your computer’s processing power.

We’re already working toward capabilities such as:

Voice check-ins for fall confirmation
Use the microphone and speaker already built into many Wi-Fi cameras to ask whether someone is OK after a detected fall.

Daily wellness check-ins and summaries
Simple daily reassurance that normal routines and activity are continuing.

Medication reminders
Optional voice check-ins that can be enabled or removed based on individual needs.

Exercise and meal reminders
Optional check-ins that can be tailored to a person’s daily routine and needs.
